Our Business Law team of commercial solicitors provides advice on all aspects of corporate, financial and commercial issues. Our client base is extremely varied, but in all cases we aim to build long-term relationships, and to understand both the nature of your business, and the sector in which you operate.
In addition to general commercial experience, each member of the Business Law team offers specialist expertise. Our commercial solicitors work closely together - and with other departments in the firm - to provide pragmatic, and cost effective solutions to meet your commercial needs and concerns.

Whether you are starting up a new venture or need advice on your existing business, our Business Law team has a proactive approach to delivery. Areas of expertise include:
- New Business Ventures - Working with you to set up your new business, whether as a company, Limited Liability Partnership, Community Interest Company or Joint Venture
- Commercial Contracts - Advising on all types of standard terms, commercial contracts, collaborations and agreements, including manufacturing, supply, distribution, events, licensing, franchising and professional appointments
- Corporate Transactions - Advising on mergers, disposals and acquisitions, assets and share transactions, financing and raising loan capital equity, advising on personal guarantees and other security for loans
- Companies and Partnerships - Establishing companies, LLPs and partnerships, Enterprise Management Incentive and Enterprise Investment Schemes, dealing with administration such as Companies Act 2006 issues, changes in constitution or governance, group service arrangements, retirements, changes of ownership and dissolution or winding up. We also advise on the roles, right and duties of directors, shareholders, partners and LLP members
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) - Advising on delivering CSR programmes, including setting up community projects or grant-making schemes, fundraising agreements with charities and event management
- Regulatory - Advising on compliance with a wide range of regulatory issues, such as data protection, corporate governance, freedom of information and consumer protection
