Education Law

We have a growing reputation for our comprehensive support to parents, schools and local authorities on a wide range of educational issues.

Support for parents

Our excellent reputation extends to providing legal advice and assistance to parents and pupils in disputes with schools and local authorities. We have been involved in a range of issues including:

  • admissions;
  • exclusions;
  • Special Educational Needs (SEN);
  • Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) claims;
  • school transport;
  • supporting  parents at appeals;
  • supporting parents at complaint hearings;
  • supporting parents at SEN & disability tribunals; and
  • advising on judicial review and statutory appeals in the High Court.

Support for schools and local authorities

We are becoming increasingly well-known for successfully providing support to schools, local authorities, sponsors and project managers in the following areas:

  • establishing academies;
  • establishing trust schools;
  • property, employment and charity law issues; and
  • operational issues such as admissions, exclusions, appeals, special educational needs, disability discrimination, and school reorganisation.

In addition we offer a helpline service to schools. For an annual fee, users can get initial legal support on any operational issue, along with access to briefings, seminars and other services.
